Two 20 year old heavy fuel oil fired heaters were dismantled.
A new 11.3 MW gas burning thermal unit with air preheater and a maximum working temperature of 340°C was installed.
The replacement of the old heaters lead to a raised burner efficiency which resulted in reduced emissions and significant energy cost savings.
The vertical heater is 26.5 m high and has at the base a diameter of 3.9 m .
Two new 500 m³/h hot oil pumps were foreseen and the DN250 piping needed to be connected to the existing main hot oil header.
